<What is DotView? >
For good inkjet printing, the compatibility between the ink and the print head and the drive parameters that control the print head is important. We evaluate this compatibility using the DotView (ejected droplet observation and measurement system).
In the case of good compatibility, characteristics such as “stable ink ejection from the printhead nozzle,” “no satellite of the ejected liquid,” and “no clogging of the nozzle” are observed.
Although these characteristics are generally considered to be based on the viscosity and surface tension of the ink, DotView can analyze these characteristics by monitoring and observing the actual ejection state.
By directly observing droplet ejection conditions, you can analyze various phenomena that cannot be determined from printed materials.

The measurement results (= discharge conditions) are used in the printing system. The ink control system is the same for DotView as for the printer.
In most cases, the first time the ink is used, the parameters are adjusted in DotView and the extracted conditions are applied to the IJ printer.

The state of the droplets ejected from the head is monitored by a camera, and the ejection speed is calculated and displayed.
The DotView system is not only available as a stand-alone unit, but can also be attached to the main body of the printer as an option.
In addition to the Konica Minolta head version, the Kyocera head version has been released in March 2009.

High performance optics are used to observe the first image.
